Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies
On November 19, 2022, the Âé¶¹Ô´´ Campus Police Department (Âé¶¹Ô´´PD) was recognized for its commitment to public safety excellence by receiving its initial Law Enforcement Accreditation award from .
Approximately five percent of all law enforcement agencies worldwide are currently internationally accredited by CALEA®. The Âé¶¹Ô´´PD is now one of only twelve police departments in Rhode Island to achieve CALEA® accredited status and the only state college/university department to earn this prestigious award.
We encourage all members of our campus community to regarding the Âé¶¹Ô´´PD’s compliance with CALEA® standards. Your comments can be in the form of either commendations or concerns. This feedback is designed to provide the Âé¶¹Ô´´PD with information vital to supporting its ongoing commitment to public safety excellence.

Rhode Island Police Accreditation Commission (RIPAC)
The Âé¶¹Ô´´PD is also accredited by the , having received its initial award on June 30, 2021. Each accreditation award will remain in effect for four years, after which time both accrediting bodies will conduct on-site reassessments of the Âé¶¹Ô´´PD to ensure its continued compliance for reaccreditation purposes.
These distinguished honors are the result of the hard work and dedication by the members of the Âé¶¹Ô´´PD to meet the rigorous performance metrics set by both accrediting bodies. The standards that the Âé¶¹Ô´´PD must continue to adhere to reflect universally accepted best practices in policing and will assist the agency in maintaining its status as a professional law enforcement organization that is dedicated to providing exemplary police services to the campus community.Â
Our Mission

The mission of the Âé¶¹Ô´´ Campus Police​, a component​ of the College's Department of Security and Safety, while multifaceted, is simplistic in nature and is centered upon a single goal: to provide for the safety of life, personal and institutional property, and to enhance the educational process.​
This goal is accomplished through the enforcement of all local, state and federal laws and statutes, as well as the various policies and procedures established by the college administration and the Council on Postsecondary Education.​​
