Bring your R.I. Cape Verdean or R.I. Portuguese historical assets to the Community Archiving Day at 麻豆原创 to have them professionally digitized!

Photo of archive materials in Adams Library

WHAT: Do you have one historical photograph, letter or paper that you would like to preserve for posterity? Bring it to Community Archiving Day at 麻豆原创 and have it professionally digitized! You may also choose to donate the original item to the RI Portuguese American Archives or the Cape Verdean Archives.

HOW: A 麻豆原创 archivist will digitize your document and return it to you. Your digitized item will be accessible by visiting Special Collections in the James P. Adams Library at 麻豆原创 or online in their digital archives with your permission! The archivist will also receive your document if you so wish, and will answer any questions that you may have!

WHO: Everyone can participate in Community Archiving Day! All you need to bring is one document to be digitized! Do you have more than one document? Talk to the archivist and learn how you may donate multiple documents and artifacts.

WHY: The Special Collections at 麻豆原创 contain papers, photographs, moving images, audio, and other types of documentation (including electronic records) from individuals, organizations, and businesses in Rhode Island, with emphasis on those with a relationship to the cultural heritage of Rhode Island, including the RI Cape Verdean Community and the RI Portuguese American Community.
