Two full time positions; 300 hours a semester scheduled during regular working hours (M-F, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM)

Primary Purpose

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is developing a college-wide Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strategic map for the college. This graduate assistant would work closely with the Director and consultant to support in the research, coordination and compilation of information and data as we engage in Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI)/ Minority Serving Institution (MSI) initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support in collecting and identifying challenges related to DEI practices, policies, leadership, and goals.
  • Coordinate meetings with different stakeholders around MSI/HSI initiatives.
  • Support in the execution of MSI/HSI initiatives under the supervision of the Director.
  • Research and compile best practices nationwide for MSI/HSI colleges.
  • Be a champion and supporter of access and equitable inclusive practices.

Special Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong oral communication skills (public speaking); self-motivated, reliable, dependable, punctual
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint), One Drive, and Excel.
  • Able to work independently or as a team; work within deadlines; organized.
  • Ability to take notes and be detail oriented.
  • Collect, analyze and process quantitative and qualitative experiences to communicate to a varied audience.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion on and off campus; have a passion for social justice, equity and inclusion.

  • Spanish Bilingual writing and oral
