Program Update

Enrollment in this program is currently suspended. While new applications are not being accepted, current students will be fully supported through program completion. If you are exploring related fields of study, our Admissions team can help you identify alternative programs that match your interests and goals.

If you are interested in teaching technology education in grades K–12, Â鶹ԭ´´ provides the highest level of teacher preparation.

What to Expect

You will engage in a rich course sequence of 10 technical classes and train on cutting-edge equipment, including CNC milling, 3D printing, laser cutting and etching, robotics and a precision measurement arm. You will also learn to use design software to accomplish design tasks. Upon successful completion of this program, you will be eligible for full certification to teach technology education in grades K–12 in Rhode Island.

2 Concentration Options

The Technology Education program offers a concentration in teaching and a concentration in applied technology. The applied technology concentration does not lead to teaching certification, but it will prepare students to make informed career choices in technical fields.
